Ok here is a break down on some of the things we waste money on all the time and have no clue we do it. Its through our home utilities. The biggest waste is water and hot water.... this alone is an extra $373 a year for a family of 4 that has gas hot water.... yup. So besure to buy better quality detergent that doesn't require hot water to get your clothes clean.
Another item we waste money on Ceiling Fans. Yes, all my life I was told to turn the fans on and the air off. However, according to TVA Energy Cutting analysis we waste approximately $92 a year per fan, yikes that is like $69 a month for me since every room in my house has one.
Computers, nearly all of us have one and we all leave them on the charger right. Did you know that each one use $38 worth of electricity a year. I have 4 laptops plugged in nearly at all times, but the wi-fi and the desktops (2) that i just recently turned off. That is an additional $23 a month just for the PC's.
Ok, big one TV's cost approximately $155 a year. I have three 13" TV's, one 32" TV, and one 52" TV. That means i spend about $65 a month just on TV's.
Central Air being the biggest expense at $1131 a year if its energy efficient model. Unfornately for me Mine is not.... ugh... so lets say that I spend twice as much for around $188 a month when that thing is one... hum... I think its time to upgrade this item first.
So here is my plan for the weekend.... unplug all the TV's, PC's, and Central Air for starters that will save around $65+$23+$188 am month alone = $276 approximately.
And last Im going to time the rest of my family's bathing as they tend to spend alot of time in the shower, (about 25 minutes per person) cut their water off if need be. But, I am not forgetting the ceiling fans, they will be turned off as well.
