Cutting the grocery budget and calories.

Do we really need all these items at the grocery store? I personally am a gravy and sauces kind of girl. I want a sauce on just about anything I eat. However, while alot of this is empty calories how much is it costing you.

Lets take a look at the common things we buy every week when we shop.
country crock butter. about $3.50 for 3 lbs, but 1lb of blue bonnet butter is about $1.00 give or take, not only that but it may take you 3 months to use that 3 lbs granted you saved a little money maybe but you wasted space and up front dollars that could have been saved for the future.

another item salad dressing name brand runs about $3.00 a bottle, I don't know about you but we generally use 1 entire bottle with 1 salad. try vingar and seasoned oils instead or generic dress it up with pickles or relish.

that candy, yes candy. Little debbies , potatoe chips, cookies, and candies are all wastes of money and calories instead baby carrots with homemade ranch dip. it will save you calories and money. carrots $2.00 ranch dip $2.50.

Cokes and other beverages, cost about $1.50 to $2.00 a 2-litter now, I can drink one in 2 days. Why not drink tea or kool-aid instead, you can control the sugar content and beverage strength. One gallon of tea costs about $0.25 to make as compared to $1.50.

take a look at what you put in the buggy before you leave the grocery store next time and think do i really need 12 rolls of toilet paper ($6.50) right now, or can 8 rolls ($2.75)  last me next friday? think about the snacks and see if you can find a health alternative often they are cheaper and once you get used to eating yogurt instead of ice cream its not so bad, plus you saved calories and money.
